Gin walk, September 21, 2022

We started at 10:30 from the Parking of the Refuge de Gland.
After 15 minutes walk through the woods, we reached the route de Lausanne.
We stopped at the Fortification Villa Rose, which was a big surprise to some the
walkers in our small group. We also admired several times the “Toblerone Line”.
Leaving the Route de Lausanne, we proceeded through fields, woods and
followed the river until we reached the Domaine Imperial Golf Course.

We watched 3 ladies, each hitting on the green of a par 3 as we duly applauded.
The remaining part of our walk went safely through the golf course. We saw
many warning signs and walked cautiously paying attention to flying golf
balls. We arrived at the parking lot at 11:50 continued to the restaurant
Les Aberiaux at the Port Les Aberiaux, where we enjoyed a beer and an excellent
Cheeseburger outside in the sun with a great view of Lake Geneva.
In summary a great walk, beautiful weather, good drinks/food and small,
excellent group of GIN walkers.

Lunch at L’Accord Parfait, April 21, 2022

Our GIN lunch at the L’Accord Parfait went very well.
An elite group of 9 GIN members enjoyed an excellent
lunch in the recently renovated restaurant.
The new modern and comfortable decor are
very attractive and are a big improvement from
the former restaurant Au Vieux Bois.

The food, ambiance and friendly, efficient service
were all great.

The participants used several different modes of
transportation, 2 bikers, 2 walkers and 5 came by car.

Definitely a restaurant worth a visit.

GIN walk Mont Mussy/Mourex August 25, 2021

We met at the parking lot of Mont Mussy at 10:00am.

The group of 10 GIN walkers started  our 5.8 km walk  “Boucle de Mont  Mussy/Mourex” with a positive elevation of 156m, on time.

The first part of the walk through the forest presented some inclines and was rather rocky. This caused some stragglers, after a loud yodle the front runners stopped and the group  got together again.

We noted that quite a few trees had been cut down and large stacks of firewood were placed alongside the path. After reaching Mont Mourex the walking became much easier. Several stops were made to enjoy the views of Lake Geneva and the city of Geneva.

We met quite  a few walkers with dogs and some of  us chatted with the dog owners.

On the way down to the Mourex parking lot we enjoyed the beautiful wild flowers.

Looping back to Mont Mussy was easy going and we all arrived back at our cars at 12:00 pm.

Alan and I led a group of 5 cars to the parking lot behind the restaurant Au Bon Accueil, where we enjoyed a good lunch and glass of beer.

The walk and lunch were appreciated by all the participants.
