We shall meet and start from the Place de l’Ancienne Gare in Divonne at 9h30 and proceed on the path that was the old railway line towards Grilly but turning up beforehand to the upper woodland path for our return via the Grande Source with an ETA of 12h00.
There were three of us and a dog for this walk, Bill W, Rudolf S (and Daisy) and Mark 2R. We set off on time in the sunshine reminding us, if we needed it, that the day was going to be very hot. Thankfully, much of the walk was in the shade but even so Daisy was very pleased to have a couple of water stops, as were we.
Interestingly, the path to the Grande Source was marked as closed for works, and indeed much work was in progress closing the main path; but as the Source was waterless, we, and other walkers but not cyclists, were able to cross further down. We had made such good progress that we had plenty of time to enjoy a welcome beer under the plain trees of the Pavillon du Golf and then back to our start point just after midday.
