This group was formed several years ago with the prime objective to provide opportunities to explore interesting areas within the Suisse-Romande and neighbouring France, without taxing body and soul with the challenges of Alpine hikes.
Walks are normally held once monthly and are sometimes linked to a GIN Lunch date. Every attempt is made to avoid overlap with golfing dates and other popular GIN activities.
Group members all have excellent knowledge of places of historic or scenic interest in their local area that can be viewed simply by following the many footpaths and minor roads criss-crossing the countryside. Walks normally take no longer than 90 minutes from and to the designated car parking facilities.
An added bonus is usually offered. Groups normally book into an informal village restaurant/café following a walk to sample the day menu and to quench their thirst.
Walking Group membership is open to any GIN member. Simply email Alan Baker (Group Co-ordinator) and Mark Watts (Webmaster), thereby enabling the Group’s electronic mailing list to be kept up-to-date and everyone informed of the group’s plans.
We look forward to welcoming you.
