Jeremy, Thatcher, Stephen and David enjoyed a spectacular hike in superb conditions around the Gastlosen range above Jaun.

David, Peter (who took the photo) , Thatcher and Jeremy enjoyed a 17km loop hike over the Dent de Vaulion in perfect conditions despite the bise. This included a surprise lunch in the “Trois Coeurs” in the village of Vaulion.

Thanks to David for initiating and organising.

 

The first hike of the 2018 season.

Organised by David Colledge, included Jeremy & Mark

Met in Chavannes Centre car park at 07:30, drove to Chaumont, hiked to summit of Le Vuache (3.4km, 480m ascent) and back (slightly further).

Lunch in La Cave de la Ferme in nearby Frangy – highly recommended with 4 course lunch at €16.5.

Back home before 15:00.

Hi .. looks like we will 8 for friday.

I suggest that I , Peter D , Peter T (if confirmed ) , Mark and David meet at Peter D’s at 07:30 … take 2 cars and pick up the others en route … then rdv at the motorway service station in Gland before proceeding in convoy to Caux.

.. there is a restaurant at the top and the possibility of a train ride down.
