On a thankfully much cooler day than of late, John Burley, Rudolf Staehelin, Bill Westermeyer and Mark Warren set off at 9:30 from the Forestland Carpark in Divonne on a 4.5kms walk to Crassier and back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking the delightful path through the woods around the Marais de Bidonnes, we met up with a young Saudi, Osama, on his first trip to Europe. He had worked in a coffee bar in Riyadh to pay for his holiday and considered 25C as cool. He stayed with us as we clambered over a recently fallen tree blocking the path and went to the observation tower but turned back to Divonne as we exited the woods to continue our journey to Crassier and a welcoming caf\u00e9 for refreshments. It was at this time we heard thunder and saw lightning but luckily no rain came down on us. Conversation included an explanation of Blockchain Technology by Rudolf and that it wasn\u2019t as anonymous as some drug traffickers had thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the potential storm heading towards Nyon, we took the direct route back to be at our cars at 11:30 as planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
