Web hosting incurs costs. Prior to May 2017 we used a spare site of Ted Wilson’s. He had bought a 3 for the price of 2 package to give him sites for (a) renting his villa in Spain, (b) promoting his book on accelerator design. After Ted’s death we could not ask Monica to maintain this site for us, including providing administrator passwords , so I bought a new hosting package from Hostgator in May 2017.
Charges are roughly
- $250 every 3 years for web hosting (first 3 years were $156)
- $15 per year for web address
- $13 per year or domain privacy protection
Charges to date (2025-12-03) are $905 with another $280 becoming due in May 2026.
We had a voluntary contribution of CHF 10 each in 2021 which raised CHF 505.
